Sister Mary Ell

SISTER DIES — Originally from Holdfast, Sask., Sister Mary Ell died Oct. 28 in Saint John, N.B., not long before her 104th birthday. She was taught by Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception in her hometown and entered the community in the east in 1928. For more than 50 years she was an educator in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba. She also ministered in parishes and as a tutor. Her hobbies included painting, gardening and working on the computer. She returned east in 2004. Relatives from Regina and Australia were present for the funeral.
