ALL SOULS DAY — Members of Regina’s Italian Club gathered All Souls Day at St. Anthony’s Mausoleum for the annual tradition of blessing the graves. “It’s a tradition that happens every year in Italy and all over Europe,” said Abela Giannini, a member of the Time to Remember subcommittee of the Italian Club. The ceremony began inside the mausoleum with a brief prayer followed by the blessing of burial niches by Rev. Stephen Bill, pastor of Resurrection Parish. The large group then gathered outside in front of the mausoleum where a bench dedicated to Italians who came from Italy and died here was blessed by Bill. The group, led by a member carrying a large cross and many carrying Italian flags, processed to the Regina Funeral Home Chapel located about 300 meters from the mausoleum where another prayer service was held, followed by a lunch.
