LAY FORMATION — At a recent All Saints celebration during the monthly Lay Formation weekend at Queen’s House in Saskatoon, Renske Averyt, co-ordinator of the Aboriginal Catholic Lay Formation Program, and Monica Purnama, Year II Lay Formation participant (from left), both dressed as St. Monica, the mother of St. Augustine of Hippo, who prayed many years for her son’s conversion. The two-year Lay Formation program offered in Saskatoon includes three streams — diocesan, eparchial and aboriginal. Participants spend time deepening their relationship with God by increasing their prayer life, learning more about the faith and experiencing Christian community. (O’Gorman photo)
