ANUSZKIEWICZ PASSES AWAY — Rev. Frank Anuszkiewicz passed away at the age of 79 on Jan. 23. Anuszkiewicz was born in 1935 and completed his primary and high school studies in Poland. He was ordained in 1960 in Nowa Wies, Poland where he was assistant and pastor until 1975. In 1977 he arrived in Canada and became assistant and pastor in Lloydminster. He arrived in the Diocese of Prince Albert in 1979 and became administrator at the Duck Lake Parish. He was appointed to the parishes of Porcupine Plain and Bjorkdale from 1982 to 1992. The parish of Hudson Bay was added in 1990. He then moved to Duck Lake, Rosthern and Batoche until 1999. In 1997 he was incardinated into the Diocese of Prince Albert. In 1999, he became pastor for the parishes of Delmas, Lashburn and Maidstone. He retired in 2004 and moved to Edmonton, where he was chaplain for his residential senior care facility. Recently, he had returned to Poland to be closer to family and friends. He was known as a quiet, kind and gentle man who loved to fish, visit friends and parishioners.
