Winter's Sting

The trees are bare,
Stripped of their Fall finery.
A pall descends,
Filling the days
With somber soliloquy.
The wind, in anxious discourse
Shrieks
And
Howls
In its rapid race to leave
Full impact of
Winter's sting.
