Gleaning

Winnowing fear,
restless, feral winds
surge in my mind,
shifting directions,
gathering force.
I mistake it all
for chaff —
husks of failure
and deprecation.
But this wind resounds
from the ancient world
and release has always
been gleaned
from grains of doubt.
