PRAISE IN THE PARK — It was a rocking time in Regina’s Victoria Park Sept. 10 as eight bands from different faith communities beat out music for the glory of God. It was the annual Praise in the Park endorsed by the Regina Council of Churches and the Regina Ministerial Association. Children played at several activities in the warm sun as their parents and others sat on the grass, on blankets or lawn chairs and listened to the music. Faith-based organizations set up tents alongside the main venue, providing information on their activities and membership. Food was available from trucks parked nearby and an ice cream bicycle made its way through the park several times. Initial attendance was small, as the afternoon was competing with a televised Roughrider game from Winnipeg, but more came as the afternoon wore on. Pastor Charles Kooger of Sonlight Christian Reformed Church and Alex Coleman of Hallelujah Radio co-organized the afternoon. (Frank Flegel photo)
