How to Return from Pilgrimage

Remember to tread softly . . .
and choose when to jump.
Keep your hands out of your pockets
so you can touch the wildflowers
as you pass by
the ancient landscapes
echoing prayers and wisdom and stories
to feed your soul every day
with delight and hope and love.

Remember to bundle up
for the windy climb up The Knock
for you do not know what may pass before you
around the next corner . . .
a breathtaking wonder
or a treacherous narrow path . . .
along the sacred wild edges
of your soul
where pilgrims have tread softly
and jumped when the time is ripe . . .
into the loving embrace
of the Sacred Cosmic Dance.
