New papal document

Despite a new papal document on liturgy, Canada’s bishops are unlikely to reopen the English translation of the 2011 Roman Missal. However, many Catholics are still dissatisfied with the 2011 translation that outlawed inclusive language and held back ecumenical co-operation.


Liturgical translations

In a strategic move of great importance, Pope Francis recently issued a motu proprio which will return authority over liturgical translations to the conferences of bishops, by means of a change in canon law.
