He splits the rocks in the wilderness. — Psalm 78:15

A boulder looms across the path of progress.
We attack it with dynamite and bulldozers,
blasting, cracking, splitting stone.
God takes time.
He gently drops
some pine cones in a crevice
and waits for roots to force the rock apart.
Often we resort to confrontation, noise and speed,
when all we need are mustard seeds of faith
and time to move our mountains.
