RIDE FOR LIFE — It was the second annual Ride for Life sponsored by the Father Bigonesse Knights of Columbus Council in Battleford. The ride began at St. Vital Catholic Church and the riders were escorted to the town limits by the RCMP. Cut Knife, Macklin, Unity and Wilkie were on the route before returning to St. Vital Parish hall for supper and draws. In Macklin and Unity, the riders were welcomed and hosted by the local Knights of Columbus councils. There were 39 riders, which is almost double the number of participants from last year. Before the ride, Father Greg blessed the bikes and asked the riders to begin by “revving their engines,” and the bikes took off with a roar. There were riders from Saskatoon and Meadow Lake joining those from Battleford and the surrounding area. The Father Bigonesse Council donated the funds raised to Right to Life.
